The other day I was looking at the Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr posted on my refrigerator. These questions started popping into my head about the word SERENITY.
- What does having serenity in my life really mean?
- Can I truly have serenity in my life?
- Do I have serenity at this moment?
These are very good questions for self-reflection and journaling. This is what my understanding of what serenity meant before I looked up the definition. Having serenity means to me being calm, relaxed, satisfied and at peace with where you are in life. I guess the biggest question to answer about SERENITY is: If I don’t have it, “What should I be doing to get it”?
Below is the dictionary definition of SERENITY:
calmness, hush, peace, peacefulness, placidity, quiet, quietness, quietude, repose, restfulness, sereneness, calm, still, stillness, or tranquility.
It would be great to get some replies back about what all of you think serenity means and how do you think we can obtain it?
