Ladies Diary — Women Who Do It All – But Forget Themselves | Women’s Health Awareness [Patti’s Guest Appearance]

Click to watch the video.

I was a guest on this (LIVE) Ladies Diary episode and had a wonderful conversation with these lovely ladies.

In this episode of Ladies Diary, we’re diving into a conversation that so many women live every single day but rarely stop to acknowledge: doing everything for everyone else while slowly neglecting themselves.

During Women’s Health Awareness Month, this topic becomes even more important because the truth is, many women don’t ignore their health on purpose; it happens over time.

It happens in the middle of responsibilities, expectations, and the constant pressure to show up for everyone else, no matter what.

We’re talking about the women who work nonstop, take care of others, carry emotional weight, keep things running, and still somehow convince themselves that their own needs can wait.

Whether it’s physical health, mental exhaustion, stress, or burnout, the warning signs are often there, but they get pushed aside in favor of “just one more thing” that needs to get done. This isn’t just about self-care in the surface-level sense.

This is about understanding why women are conditioned to put themselves last, why it feels uncomfortable to choose yourself, and how easy it is to fall into patterns that slowly drain you without even realizing it.

We’re getting real about the cost of constantly running on empty, the impact it has on your body and mind, and the moment when “handling everything” starts to feel much heavier.

We’ll also talk about what it actually looks like to start shifting that mindset. Not perfection, not overnight change, but small, real decisions that move you from survival mode into something more sustainable.

Because taking care of yourself shouldn’t feel like a luxury or something you have to earn; it’s necessary.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything right but still feel worn down, overlooked, or exhausted, and if you’ve ever said “I’ll take care of it later” and kept pushing through, this conversation is for you.

You’re not alone in that feeling, and you don’t have to stay stuck in it either.

Ep 101: When to Walk Away from a Work or Personal Relationship (And How)

Click to watch the video.

When Is It Time to Walk Away From a Job or Relationship?

Sometimes, we know something isn’t working anymore.

Maybe it’s a job that leaves you drained and dreading Monday.

Maybe it’s a relationship where you no longer feel respected, supported, or even like yourself anymore.

And yet, knowing something isn’t right doesn’t always make it easy to walk away.

We may stay because of fear, security, history, guilt, or hope that things will change for the better, but they never do.

One question from Episode 101 of Building Better Relationships at Home and Work with Angela and Patti really stood out to me:

Am I staying because this is right for me today, or because it was right for me yesterday?

Sometimes the answer isn’t about leaving. It may be about looking at what’s happening, setting boundaries, having a difficult conversation, or deciding what you want to help make the best decision for you.

🦋 Let’s Take a Pause and Self-Reflect or Journal:

If you’re thinking about a relationship, job, or situation in your life, take a few moments to reflect:

What relationship or situation have I outgrown?

What would happen if I walked away?

What kind of relationship or life do I want to create?

You don’t have to decide immediately. Sometimes, giving yourself time to pause and explore is the first step toward deciding.

Watch or Listen to Episode 101

In this podcast episode, Angela and I explore when it may be time to stay, when it may be time to make changes, and when it may be time to walk away from a work or personal relationship.

We also share healthy ways to leave, create a transition plan, exit plan, deal with mixed emotions, and find closure when we don’t get the ending we hoped for.

Sometimes walking away isn’t closing a door on someone else.

Sometimes it’s opening a door to yourself.

If this topic resonates with you, I hope you will take a few minutes to watch or listen and explore what may be possible for you.

Why I Love My Work as a Coach

Click to watch the video.

Hi, I wanted to share about why I love coaching so much and I love coaching work.

The reason why I love it so much is because when I see my clients succeeding in what they really want in life, it brings so much joy to them as well as to me.

I’m going to give you an example. I had a client that she was getting ready to go on a trip solo, and she hadn’t gone on a trip on an airplane for 20 years.

And she was experiencing fear of the technology, fear of going alone, fear of anxiety of the trip. And she was going to see her daughter. So it was very important that we work together to get her over the fear and to have a plan of action to take to go on this trip.

So we started with talking about her anxiety and fear of going on the trip because she was really ready to back out.

So I helped her download the apps and plan her route, plan everything to help her feel confident and comfortable going. So we did all of these different techniques and was able to get her to feel comfortable and go on the trip.

And when she came back, she was so happy that she went and she now knows that she can go on the trip again by herself. I wanted to share this because so many times we think we can’t do something and it holds us back.

But if you find the way to confidently do it, and have somebody to help you. You can succeed in what you want. And she did. She learned how to put apps on her phone. She learned how to use them. She learned how to get to the airport, where to park, how to pull up her ticket on the app, and to go through the checkout and everything and able to change planes if needed.

All of those things brought her confidence with technology, as well as confident in herself to be able to travel solo.

I just wanted to share that today as inspiration that sometimes we hold ourselves back, but we can do things that we didn’t think that we could.

Self-Reflection or Journal Question:

Take a moment to think about something that you have been holding back from doing.

What steps you could do, to make it happen?

If there’s something you’ve been wanting to accomplish but fear, uncertainty, or self-doubt has been getting in the way, coaching can help you turn that goal into manageable steps and move forward with greater confidence.

Let’s explore what’s possible together.

Sometimes You Just Want a Moment of Calm

Click to watch the video.

Sometimes you just want a moment of calm. Maybe it’s sitting outside with your coffee. Maybe it’s taking a walk. Maybe it’s listening to music, reading a few pages of a book, or simply sitting quietly for a few minutes.

It doesn’t have to be anything complicated.

When life gets busy, we can get caught up in everything that comes along. We move from one thing to another without giving ourselves much time to stop and enjoy where we are.

🦋 The most productive thing you can do is slow down.

🦋 Take a moment.

🦋 Enjoy the moment.

🦋 Savor those moments of peace and calm.

You don’t always need to accomplish something during those moments. Sometimes you just might want to enjoy them.

And giving yourself that time isn’t selfish. It can be a simple way to create more calm and balance in your day.

You may have things waiting for you. There may always be another email, another task, or another thing on your list, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a few moments of calm.

Self-Reflection or Journal Question:

What is something simple that helps you slow down and enjoy a moment of peace and calm?

So instead of waiting for the perfect time to slow down, consider creating a little time for yourself along the way.

I would love to hear what works for you in the comments. 🦋

A Little Reminder: You Don’t Have to Do It All Today

Click to watch the video.

I know how easy it is to look at everything that needs to get done and feel like you need to keep going until it’s all finished.

🦋 The emails.
🦋 The work.
🦋 The errands.
🦋 The things at home.
🦋 The things you’ve been putting off.

But what if everything doesn’t actually need to get done today?

Sometimes creating more calm and balance starts with simply deciding what really needs my attention right now.

🦋 Choose what’s important.

🦋 Let some things wait.

🦋 And give yourself permission to pause.

Pausing doesn’t mean you’re giving up or falling behind. Sometimes a pause is exactly what we need to step away, clear our minds, and come back with a little more energy and a new perspective.

You don’t have to finish everything on your list to have had a productive day.

Maybe today, instead of asking yourself, “How am I going to get everything done?” ask yourself:

“What is the most important right now?”

Then give yourself permission to let the rest wait.

A Self-Reflection or Journal Question

What is one thing you could let wait today so you can create a little more calm for yourself?

I would love to hear from you in the comments. 🦋

A little reminder:
You don’t have to do it all today.
Choose what’s important.
Let some things wait.
Give yourself permission to pause. 🦋

Sometimes that pause gives us the time to think more clearly, reconnect with what truly matters. ~ Patti
