Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can’t change. Kiss slowly, play hard, forgive quickly, take chances, give everything and have no regrets. Life is too short to be anything but happy. ~ Author Unknown
This poem has a lot of meaning to me. I look at the words and some inspire me and some are hard to live by. Laughing is good and we all should do more of it. Some of us get so focus we forget to laugh, kiss slowly, play hard, take chances and give everything to these precious moments of life.
A few of these words I sometimes struggle with ~ apologizing when you should, forgive quickly and no regrets. Yes, I am usually very quick to apologize when I am in the wrong. What I struggle with is apologizing to someone who has hurt you time and time again and feels you should apologize because they are too stubborn to apologize themselves. The question I ponder is “When is the line crossed to not make amends?” When you do not apologize, does this mean you haven’t forgiven quickly? Probably. How do you forgive quickly and move on?
Living life with no regrets. I truly want this in my life and I am working towards it daily. There are somethings I wish I could have change in my life, but I have accepted I can’t go back and change them. So it is time to let go of it and move on. This poem has great words to live by and I am going to do my best to remember them in my daily walk. How about you? I have somethings to work on, as we all probably do. Be happy and live life to the fullest. ~ Patti

Every day is an opportunity to change things for the better! ~ Michael Pivec
What a great affirmation! It is so true every day is an opportunity to change things for the better. If we start each day as a NEW day and learn from the past but not constantly dwell on it. We can move towards those fresh opportunities in life. Keeping a positive outlook brightens the people around you as well as yourself. Being positive gives you opportunities to look at things in a pristine way. Others will want to assist you in succeeding which opens up different and exciting possibilities. It is a NEW day make the most of it! ~ Patti 🙂
Question: How are you going to brighten your NEW day?
There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning. – Louis L’Amour
These words are so inspiring. Think about times in your life that something ended a friendship, a relationship, career, the children growing up and moving out. When our lives change this gives us opportunities for other things to come in. Sometimes these circumstances are emotionally hard for us, but once we move past those feelings we start moving towards a new beginning.
The other day I was looking at the Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr posted on my refrigerator. These questions started popping into my head about the word SERENITY.
What does having serenity in my life really mean?
Can I truly have serenity in my life?
Do I have serenity at this moment?
These are very good questions for self-reflection and journaling. This is what my understanding of what serenity meant before I looked up the definition. Having serenity means to me being calm, relaxed, satisfied and at peace with where you are in life. I guess the biggest question to answer about SERENITY is: If I don’t have it, “What should I be doing to get it”?
