Judging and Assuming the Worst in Others

Judging and Assuming the Worst in Others

Why do some people look for the worst or negative in others or in situations?  Why do people assume you are judging them?  Why are people so quick to point out their opinions and interrupt you when you are talking?  Or express such harsh points of view that are not even close to the truth instead of listening and assuming the worst.  Why are some so quick to judge instead of being open and listen to the other person to explain the situation?  Why don’t people talk to each other instead of behind the other persons back?  Why has this concept become acceptable?  What happened to compassion, integrity and respect of others?  Why do people feel the need to gossip and create drama everywhere they go?  Why are some people just so mean?  Why is there so much hostility towards one another?

What happen to kindness, patience and truthfulness?

How can we change this behavior in our personal lives and work environment?  I think one person at a time not getting sucked into this conduct by walking away or stating I’m not going to participate in this activity anymore.

Why would we want discord and upheaval in our lives?  We should want to encourage others to follow their dreams and aspirations?  When people are complacent they sometimes become miserable and angry with their situation and take it out on others.  It is time to change this demeanor and be pleasant to each other by listening and having some empathy?  How about it? Let’s live our lives with joy instead of distress! 🙂 ~ Patti

Day 6 of 30 day blogging challenge ~ Peace, Joy, Love and Happiness in life

Day 6

I hear people say all they want is peace, joy, love and happiness in their life.  The big question is “What is in your life that is not creating peace, joy, love and happiness”?  Is it your job, a relationship, a friendship or you?

The bridge at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park 04-12 055

Questions to ask yourself:

What is causing unhappiness in your life?

Is your job satisfying?  Yes or No and Why?  If no, What steps will you take to change it?

Is there a relationship or friendship that has a negative impact in life?  If, yes  How?

Are you happy around this person? Yes or No and Why?

Is there always drama when you are with this person?    Yes or No?  If yes, How does it make you feel?

Do others (friends and family) want to be around this person or you?  Yes or No and Why?  Are you losing relationships because you are hanging out with this person?

Would life be more enjoyable and calm by removing this person from your life?  Yes or No and Why?

What steps will you take to have peace, joy, love and happiness?

What is happiness?

What is happiness?

I believe happiness depends on the person. According to the poll results on my website http://coachingforinspirationwithpatti.com/2014/04/11/what-are-the-ingredients-of-happiness/ as of 11/9/14:

Joy, Love and Peace were the ingredients of happiness.  Faith and Family were very close behind.

What do these results tell us?  How do we receive joy, love and peace into our lives?

After pondering on these questions I wrote down some things which provide me joy, love and peace.

Here are a few things I wrote down:

  • Drinking a large cup of coffee on a cool day
  • Watching the sunrise and sunset
  • Taking a hike in the beautiful outdoors
  • Spending time with my family and friends
  • Reading a good book

When examining the list I noticed these were simple things.  Are the simple things in life what give us joy, love and peace?  Are we so busy with other things that we don’t take the time for the simple things?

What does happiness mean to you?    I would love to see your comments and thoughts. ~ Patti

Brighten Each Day!

At times, we are so focused on the end result we forget to remember to live for today. Having balance in our lives is very important.  Taking time for our spouse, children, family, friends and pets and putting down the cell phone to focus on them helps build stronger relationships.  Create opportunities to brighten each day instead of wishing it away without one single laugh, smile or hug.  Become aware of the simple things in life which generate happiness. ~ Patti

Broken Wide Open

Sunset Broken Wide Open

We meet others who we instantly connect with. These people bring joy and friendship into our lives.  They are nonjudgmental and you feel very comfortable with them.  These types of friends – keep close and don’t push them away.

There may be times in our lives when we feel sad and want to be alone. We may be going through some challenges and it is hard to let others in.  Be open and allow these friendships to support you through the brokenness.  Sometimes it can be easy to isolate ourselves instead of letting others comfort and support us through our difficult times, but it is worse for us to be alone.

When feeling sad or broken hearted turn to things you enjoy and/or others who bring happiness to your life.

  • Watch your favorite movie or T.V. show.
  • Call a friend or family member and meet them for coffee or lunch.
  • Participate in a hobby, craft, or sport activity.
  • Go for a walk, run, hike or ride.
  • Listen to some upbeat pleasant music.
  • Spend time with your pet.

Taking your attention away from the disappointment, hurt or sadness may inspire a feeling of joy in your life.

My wish for you today is be joyful and have peace in your life. ~ Patti

New beginning

There will come a time when you believe everything is finished.  That will be the beginning. – Louis L’Amour

These words are so inspiring.  Think about times in your life that something ended a friendship, a relationship, career, the children growing up and moving out.  When our lives change this gives us opportunities for other things to come in.  Sometimes these circumstances are emotionally hard for us, but once we move past those feelings we start moving towards a new beginning.

Question: What were some of your new beginnings?

The simple things bring much joy to our lives!

Over the weekend I had a chance to visit my daughter.  One morning I was drinking my morning coffee in my daughter’s garden.  The sound of calming water rippling and the cool breeze blowing on my face.  The hummingbirds fluttering around like a beautiful dance. This was truly paradise to me.  A moment to cherish forever.  Life is good!

What is your name today?

Recently I was sitting at my desk working and this song kept popping in my head.  The song is “Hello my name is” by Matthew West.

The song lists all these different feelings and it is a very catchy tune but it really has a deep purpose and meaning.

It made me reflect what is my name today?

  • How will you stop or halt these feelings?
  • Do you want more?
  • It is time to let go of these feelings and move forward?
  • It is time to live life and don’t let it pass by?
  • It is time to live with a purpose and make a difference?

Leave the baggage behind and live in the present!  My wish for you today is be joyful and have peace in your life. – Patti
