Feeling Isolated

Have you ever felt so alone?  Even when there are many people all around you?  We all go through heart ache or times when we just want to pull the covers over our heads and not get up.  How do we get over this?  Everyone handles things differently. My experience is letting people in even when you feel like shutting down and pushing them away.  It is really hard for me personally to let friends or family in when I’m shutting down and wanting to isolate myself.  Being an only child, I like the feeling of being alone it recharges me, however isolating myself when things are rough is not always the answer.  What is the remedy?

Well, that’s a good question?  Everyone is different and their wants and needs vary.  Think about what you wanted when you were going through difficult times?  Did you want someone to listen to you?  How had you interacted with others?  What would of made things easier for you?  How do you wish people would have treated you?  If a friend or family member is going through something grueling or painful put yourself in their shoes and treat them like you want to be treated.  Listen with your ears and feel compassion with your heart.  Be kind, gentle, and compassionate to them.
