Sometimes people come to me because they’re feeling stuck and aren’t sure what they want next.
Sometimes they’re trying to create more balance between work and life.
Sometimes they’re working through a career decision or growing into a leadership role.
And sometimes they simply need time to slow down and reset.
That’s what I do.
I’m a Leadership, Work-Life Balance, and Life Coach, and I’m also a Reiki Practitioner. I work one-on-one with people who want support as they move forward, reach their goals, create more balance, and build a life that feels purposeful and meaningful.
Coaching:
Coaching can be helpful when you’re navigating a career decision, working toward a personal goal, looking for more balance, or growing as a leader.
My coaching work includes:
Leadership coaching
Work-life balance coaching
Life coaching
Career and personal goal support
Reiki:
Reiki offers another way to slow down and reset.
Sometimes we simply need time to step away from the busyness of everyday life, relax, and give ourselves a chance to pause.
If you’re looking for support through coaching or would like to experience Reiki, you can book a session using my online booking link below.

1: Creating More Calm 2: Creating More Balance
Maybe you want a few more quiet moments in your day. Time to breathe. Sit outside. Meditate. Listen to music. Pray. Simply be.
Or maybe you want more balance, creating boundaries around work, stepping away from your computer, making time for yourself, taking a weekend off, or doing something you enjoy.
Or just maybe you want a little of both. 🙂

☕ One of my favorite parts of the day is enjoying my coffee outside on my patio. 🦋
This is one of my favorite places to slow down, relax, and enjoy a little quiet time. I might listen to a meditation, an audiobook, or nothing at all. Sometimes, just sitting quietly with my coffee is exactly what I need.
🦋 What is one of your favorite things to do each day that helps you feel happy and calm?
Share it with me in the comments. I would love to hear what brings a little more calm into your day. 🦋
P.S. Sorry the audio is a little echoing. 🦋

Many caring people find themselves carrying more than their share of emotional weight.
You want to help. You want to be supportive. You want the people you care about to feel better. But along the way, you may begin to absorb their stress, anxiety, frustration, or overwhelm as if it were your own.
This can happen in relationships, with your partner, in friendships, families, and even in the workplace.
Before you know it, you’re emotionally exhausted.
For example, someone shared a challenge they were facing. Your spouse is stressed, a coworker is frustrated, a family member is overwhelmed, or a friend needs support.
Hours later, you realize you’re still carrying the weight of that conversation and rethinking it over and over.
Many caring, compassionate people unintentionally absorb others’ emotions. While empathy is a beautiful gift, carrying everyone else’s emotional load can leave us drained, overwhelmed, stressed, exhausted, and disconnected from ourselves.
There is a difference between supporting someone and carrying others’ emotions.
Supporting someone allows us to:
Listen with compassion
Offer encouragement
Be present
Carrying someone else’s emotions often looks like:
Worrying about them long after the conversation ends
Feeling responsible for solving their problems
Absorbing their stress as if it were your own
Feeling emotionally exhausted afterward
Self-Reflection Questions to Ask Yourself:
The next time you feel emotionally overwhelmed after a conversation, pause and ask:
What emotions belong to me?
What emotions belong to the other person?
What do I need right now to feel grounded?
Am I supporting or am I carrying the emotions of others?
These questions can create awareness and help you reconnect with yourself.
The strongest relationships are not built by carrying everything for one another. They are built through connection, communication, respect, and emotional awareness.
Many of us spend so much time trying to manage responsibilities, support others, stay productive, and keep moving forward that we forget to check in with ourselves.
Sometimes through emotional exhaustion or overwhelm.
In this Episode 97, Angela and I explored how emotional stress and nervous system responses can influence our relationships, workplace experiences, and emotional wellbeing, and one important message continued to stand out throughout the conversation:
Creating healthier relationships often begins by reconnecting with ourselves.
Have you ever:
Felt uneasy around certain people?
Become emotionally overwhelmed in group settings?
Left conversations feeling drained?
Felt tension in your shoulders, chest, or stomach during stressful situations?
These experiences are more common than many people realize.
Our nervous systems constantly respond to:
Emotional energy
Tone of voice
Conflict
Silence
Workplace stress
Social overwhelm
Feeling emotionally responsible for others
Sometimes the body reacts before the mind fully understands what is happening.
One of the most supportive things we can do is begin noticing our emotional and physical responses without immediately judging ourselves.
Awareness creates space.
And in that space, we can begin choosing supportive practices that help us feel more grounded, calm, and connected.
Gentle Ways to Support Yourself
🦋 Pause before immediately reacting 🦋 Breathe slowly and deeply 🦋 Stretch after stressful conversations 🦋 Step away briefly when overwhelmed 🦋 Journal your emotional responses 🦋 Spend time in quiet reflection 🦋 Allow yourself moments of rest
Sometimes healing begins with simply acknowledging what you are feeling.
Reflection Questions
✨ What situations make me feel emotionally tense? ✨ What environments help me feel calm and supported? ✨ What does my body need from me right now? ✨ What would creating more ease in my relationships look like?
Podcast Affirmation:
I am creating more ease in my relationships.
Creating more emotional balance and healthier relationships often happens through small moments of awareness, reflection, and self-support practiced consistently over time.
Your body may already be offering important clues about what you need more of rest, boundaries, calm, connection, space, or support.
The more gently we listen to ourselves, the more ease we may begin to create in our daily lives.
We live in a busy, overstimulated world where many people are constantly carrying emotional tension without realizing how deeply it affects their wellbeing.
This episode is a reminder to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and gently listen to what your body may be trying to communicate.
Sometimes creating more peace in our relationships and work-life balance begins with giving ourselves permission to pause, breathe, and reset.

In this episode of Building Better Relationships at Home and Work with Angela and Patti, we explore the emotional load—the invisible responsibility of managing thoughts, feelings, and expectations for others.
You may recognize it in the way you replay conversations, anticipate needs, or try to keep everything running smoothly.
This conversation gently invites you to notice what you’re carrying—and consider what you may be ready to release.
Key Takeaways
• Emotional load is often invisible—but deeply felt • Holding what’s unsaid creates mental and emotional strain • Letting go doesn’t mean you stop caring • Awareness is the first step toward change
Reflection
What have I been holding that may not be mine?
Affirmation
I am allowed to release what is not mine to carry.
If this episode spoke to you, share it with someone who may be carrying too much too.
In this episode of The Coach’s Corner, host Davina Lyons sits down with Patti Oskvarek, a Life, Leadership, and Work-Life Balance Coach and Reiki Master, for a powerful conversation about confidence, boundaries, and creating a life with intention.

✨ In this episode, we explore:
Finding balance in a busy, demanding world, letting go of people-pleasing and honoring boundaries, leading with intention and inner peace
In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to fall into the habit of simply getting through the day, moving from one task to the next, always busy but rarely fulfilled. As a Leadership and Work-Life Balance Coach, I see amazing, hardworking people feeling like life is passing them by.
🦋 Work-life balance isn’t a destination; it’s in the little moments.
We will explore and reflect on this powerful Work-Life Balance Affirmation:
“I am creating happy moments and memories.”
This affirmation is more than words—it’s a call to pause, breathe, and truly live.
When was the last time you let yourself enjoy something simple?
A walk, a call with a friend, laughing, or being still are the moments that refill you and help you stay grounded in joy.
In the video, we explore:
How small joys help shift our mindset and energy
Why do we often forget to create happy memories
Simple ways to invite more peace and presence into your day
A gentle challenge to help you live with more intention today
What’s one happy moment you’ve created recently or would like to make this week?
🦋 Share it in the comments—I would love to hear your heart and celebrate your joy.
