This conversation with these lovely ladies was unique and different than I had ever done before. Sharing about my Work-Life Balance and Leadership coaching style, podcasts, and using the Work-Life Balance Affirmation Cards with the audience was a fun experience.
On April 10, 2023, I had the opportunity of being interviewed by Carol Blonder of Networking Arizona Radio Show about my unique leadership coaching style. It was a pleasure meeting Carol and doing the interview.
In case you didn’t get a chance to watch my exciting interview with Noleen Sliney, a Video Confidence Mentor. Noleen inspires and encourages her clients and pushes them out of their comfort zone to try new things within their business. She interviewed me on August 13, 2022.
Here’s what Noleen Sliney wrote about the interview. I had the absolute privilege of interviewing our view own changemaker Patti Oskvarek today over on my Facebook page. This was such an interesting, inspirational and fun conversation. Patti was incredible and was very generous in sharing many of her tips and words of wisdom on how to bring balance into your life and work. She also shared some very interesting things about herself. Be sure to go and watch the interview to find out what it is as well as be inspired by Patti. We would also very much appreciate your support to boost engagement and get this seen by more people by leaving a comment under the video. Thanks in advance. Noleen Sliney

How do I use what I do in my daily life?
I understand that I have to slow down and bring some balance in my life because if I don’t, things become blurred and can affect my health and relationships. I tend to over-push myself to the point of exhaustion or overload. When I start to feel tired or overloaded, I know that I need to spend alone time to recharge and refresh. Spend time outside, whether in my backyard or going out in nature. Take time to reflect, meditate or pray, listen to some calming music and do some self reiki myself.
I have a work-life balance workbook called The Optimal Work-Life Balance workbook motivates you to focus, de-stress, and gain a new perspective of a balanced life. The downloadable workbook has advice and tips on improving your life while working at your own pace. It is self-paced, achievable, and reusable throughout your life! Also included, you will receive 21 -Days of inspirational emails with tips and information daily that will set you on the path of creating your balanced life.
I also created the Work-Life Balance Affirmations Cards to inspire and encourage; read and repeat them throughout the day. Post them around your home, work area, or in your vehicle. They are pocket-size which makes them easy to carry around with you.
The cards are a companion to the Optimal Work-Life Balance Workbook. I use these cards to encourage when working on a particular topic or program day; I read and repeat them throughout the day. I post them around your home, work area, or in my vehicle. They are pocket-size which makes them easy to carry around.
How I use them:
Shuffle and randomly select a card, and reflect and repeat the affirmation throughout the day. Then, shuffle and pull a random card.
Coffee with Patti – is a beautiful way to express your appreciation and support.

Building Better Relationships at Home and Work with Angela and Patti Podcast Episode 21- Lack of Communication and Overworked! Click on the link below to listen to the full podcast episode.
In this episode, we discussed improving communication with your boss and not overworking yourself while working from home. Due to the virus, many people have been working from home lately, and some have found themselves working even more hours.
How do you find balance?
This is a period of change in how we work, and it doesn’t look like it will go back to the way it was, so more change is coming. One of the challenges I hear about is people working from home and taking care of their children at the same time since daycare services and schools are still closed. They have become the teacher, playtime instructor, nap time enforcer, lunch, and break time scheduler, all while trying to work at home.
Because of the suddenness of the change, many of us have been expected to do extra work without extra pay or support, and there has been little time to discuss the conflicting expectations or changes and how they require extra thought and extra time to implement.
What are some examples that you have seen?
Time management skills and learning what the boss expects while working from home. Setting boundaries with the family while working, how to do it all, and keep everyone calm, productive, and sane.
A routine is good.
Getting up at the same time you would if going into work, eating breakfast as a family, everyone getting dressed, and starting their day. By having a routine, everyone knows what they are supposed to do and can get things done. School work, Zoom calls, projects, breaks, lunches, dinner, free time, and nap time. One of the extra duties is learning how to move things online and deal with new technology or platforms, including changing how we present and share information.
Now, we have an opportunity to create a new normal for dealing with change. When things require extra thought and extra time, how do you approach your boss, co-workers, or those you work with?
Are you problem-focused or solution-focused?
Often when things change suddenly, we focus on being unable to do what we used to do, which stops us from speaking up about our needs. I’ve noticed people harboring resentments with superiors or employers because they feel they can’t speak up. After all, there is so much change; they need to deal with it. However, a business or employer will often struggle with the change. If you can respectfully share what you see as not working and what you see as a solution to that lack, then it clarifies for everyone what possible solutions are. And it may spark others to come up with other solutions, including your employer. Avoid staying quiet because everyone is just trying to deal with the change, but share your ideas respectfully without making people wrong.
Angela seeks feedback on people’s relationship needs in these times of change.
Have people changed their needs and experiences of relationships?
